Cancelled Suits Spinoff Ideas Revealed By Producer: The Return of a Legal Drama Titan: The show’s chief producer says that a Louit Litt Suits spin-off was once thought about. The show’s strange and unstable lawyer, played by Rick Hoffman, had a rough time getting along with Harvey and Mike.

Insecurities and Jessica’s unfair handling of him made him hurt his own business at times. Louis was one of the most complicated characters on Suits because no matter what bad things he did, he always made things right in the end.

Because of this, Aaron Korsh, the author of Suits, and his team once thought about making a show that would follow Louis. After Gina Torres’s Jessica Pearson got her own show, Pearson, this would have been the second spinoff from Suits.
Gene Klein, a non-writing producer who talked to TVLine, said that they thought about a Louis Litt spinoff and other ideas that didn’t work out. Read what he said below:

What a Louis Litt spin-off could be about

With everything that happened in Suits’ nine seasons, it makes sense to make Louis Litt the main character of a spin-off. Since he was in the show’s first season, fans have already spent years of time in him.

If you do another group show with new cast members like Dulé Hill’s Alex, Katherine Heigl’s Samantha, and Amanda Schull’s Katrina, it might look too much like Suits. It will probably always be second fiddle to its parent series, even if it turns out to be great.

In Suits, Louis did a lot of bad things. Almost everyone didn’t like him, and when Mike found out his secret, it was hard for him. He was even rude to Donna and Rachel, two of his best coworkers, at one point.

But over time, he learned to keep his feelings in check. Harvey and Donna had already left the company by the end of Suits, leaving him to run it alone.

It’s not clear if Klein was talking about this idea, but the end of Suits set up a possible spin-off nicely. If not, the new show might mean that he has to leave New York to start a new job somewhere else.

Since Suits has become so popular on Netflix, there have been rumors that it might be brought back. Unfortunately, it’s not likely that the planned show will be able to bring back all of the original characters right now, since everyone is busy with their own projects.

However, if a platform wants to cash in on the renewed interest in court dramas, it might be best to try a different spin-off. Right now, having Louis in the middle of it is their best choice.
